Centuries old now, the charter of Clan Steinhammer was issued to Thane Mhürgrin Steinhammer by High King Balun Alriksson in Karaz-a-Karak. It was carried by Mhürgrin for many a year until he and his clan came to settle in the mighty fortress of Karak Eight Peaks. There, the care of the charter was turned over to the clan historian, Gurdrik Ruhkson.

During the flight from Karak Eight Peaks, the charter was taken from its resting place and packed along side the clan's Book of Grudges and historical relics. Upon this journey, three witnesses therefore testified that Mhürgrin Steinhammer, prior to a reunion with Hrungnor, passed the charter into the name of one Angus Stoutbrewer. With sworn barazi to High King Thorgrim Grudgebearer, the clan's charter was ratified once more as a regiment of the High King's Oathbearers.

The charter now resides back in its place of origin in the great halls of Karaz-a-Karak.
